Betacort N Ointment is a
topical preparation containing high activity
dermacorticoid with topical Antibiotic.
COMPOSOTION:
Each gm.

Betamethasone Dipropionate USP 0.064% w/w
Neomycin
Sulphate BP 0.5% w/w
Cream base
q.s
INDICATIONS:
■
Dermatoses - especially sensitive to corticosteroid
■
Contact eczema
■
Atopic dermatitis
■
Psoriasis
■
Lichens
■
Eczema complicated by bacterial infections
■
Symptomatic treatment of itching
■
Otitis externa
SPECIAL
PRECAUTIONS:
Avoid
prolonged or extensive use in pregnancy should not be
taken internally or Swallowed. Avoid contact with eyes.
CONTRA
INDICATIONS:
■ Hyper sensitivity to
one of the components.
■ Skin
tuberculosis, syphillis and viral infections.
■
Ulcerous lesion.
SIDE
EFFECTS:
Theside-effects, common for
all dermacorticoids, are dryness, folloculitis, atropy,
tetangiectasis, excoriations, severe rosacea and red
marks (due to tight garments). These side effects are
rare in a short treatment.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE AND DOSAGE:
Follow strictly the
prescriptions. Normally 2 to 3 applications per day.
Applications should not be stopped abruptly. It should
be reduced to 2 applications per day for the next 3 days
and then to 1applications per day for the next 3-4 days
and then stopped.
■ Spread the cream
gently on the lesions and help it penetrate by massaging
gently .
■ In case of scalp
affection apply the cream in parted has and apply the
cream generously covering the affected area well.
■ Treatment will cease
progressively in spacing out the application.
■ Prolonged use and
treatment for children must be strictly supervised by a
medical person.
